How Do You Cut Down a Big Tree?

Tree removals are challenging tasks, especially as they increase in size. You must trim the branches and the trunk. You must take safety precautions too because you do not want to be hit by falling branches,  be tripping over debris on the ground, or falling off a ladder. It is challenging and dangerous work. There are certain ways that you must go about cutting down a large tree. Here is how you should do it.

You should start by cutting off all the tree branches first. Set up a ladder against the tree and make sure it is secure before going up it. Use a reciprocating saw to cut the branches off. A reciprocating saw is lighter, easier for you to control safely, and get the job done. After you remove all the branches, it is time to cut into the trunk. Do not cut the trunk at the base and allow the tree to tip over. This is extremely dangerous. You can easily get injured or damage your property by doing that.

Cut the tree trunk into sections. You should cut a right-angle notch into the tree in the direction of where you want the tree to fall. The notch should be about one-third or one-fourth of the tree’s diameter. Attach a rope to the top of the trunk to help haul the cut section to the ground and guide its fall. Repeat these steps until you have cut down the entire tree.
