Trees may be removed from properties without Johns Creek City permission as long as they are not located in the City’s four Tree Protected Areas:


1. The River Corridor

2. A Stream Buffer

3. A Zoning Buffer

4. A Required Landscape Strip or Landscape Parking Island


It is requested that a property owner check in with the Johns Creek City using the Tree Removal Permission Form to be sure that their property and the location of the tree(s) does not fall in one of these protected areas.


A property owner residing in a residential subdivision should also check with their HOA to determine whether there are additional HOA covenants that protect trees in their development.
